[pct-l] Water filters/purification

I've used filters, Aqua Mira, and iodine tablets. Often it's an in-line
filter with the platypus for drinking, Aqua Mira for mixing Gatorade,
and boiling for dinner since I have to boil dinner anyway.

I do still use an MSR MiniWorks pump filter on some trips, mostly if I
expect water supplies to be low or gross. I carried it a year ago end of
September hiking into ALDA-W and was glad, as some streams west of Tahoe
were very low, and some were just a small pool covered with leaves and
bugs. I would use this at Scissors Crossing in thruhiker season if
needed (upstream from the highway) but still wouldn't use it on Hat
Creek Rim. Seeing a large cow neck deep in each muddy pond there made me
realize there were things worse than thirst!

Just my opinion at this point of time.
