In Spain there is the pilgrimage trail Camino de Santiago, which is
about 500 miles. Traditionally, people walked from their homes all
over Europe to make this pilgrimage, so there is now a network of
trails all over Europe, all merging into the Spanish trail. One of
these networking trails is France's GR65 starting in Le Puy. From
there it is 400+ miles to the start of the Spanish trail. If you want
it longer, you can start in Switzerland, or Germany, Italy, Poland,
Norway...
