You might be right Bob.
I took the Greyhound to Modesto from Sonora in 2004.
That same year Greyhound dropped their service to Ashland, Oregon a couple weeks before I reached there.

  According to Greyhound's website, they do not list a stop in Sonora, CA; not even a flag stop. Greyhound has been (very) aggressively eliminating their small town service for the past two years. 

  Many PCT towns are no longer serviced by the Dirty Dog. It has been especially bad with the loss of Yreka CA, Cascade Locks OR, and Snoqualmie Pass WA.

    The one hour trip west to the town of Sonora usually only takes one ride.
    That would be your closest town.
    Greyhound services that town.
