Normal is a fallacy.
If you consider that 'normal' means 'average', normal does not exist. Our
idea of normal is an average temp, snow amount, etc, compiled from many
years data.
Finding exactly average conditions at every point along the trail for a
period of 5 months would truly be wildly abnormal.
The weather trends have been in a constant change since day one and will
till the end. The unanswered question is, is man contributing to those
changes? Please, it's *NOT* my intent to open that can of worms here.

I've been wondering a lot lately just how many more years the PCT will be
hikeable, and if any of those years will be a "normal" weather year.
If you haven't seen Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" you owe it to yourself
to do so.
I have an audio presentatio by Geroge Monbio on my website that's
"educational" as well. Have a listen. www.bluebrain.ca/warming/
