I have been using pocketmail for the last 4 year and was always happy with it. That it, untill last summer. For some reason, perhaps because the huge growth in spam I was getting, this gadget became extrmaly unreliable. When I sent an e-mail, I never knew if it would arrive, and when I recieved mail, often there were many letters I never recieved. I learned I had to phone the 1-800 number many time, just to download a handfull of short letters. That can be extremaly frastrating. I herd bad things about pocketmail from trippinant, who is also a many year user of it.
The service of pocketmail seems to have deteriorated rapidly, and I feel its on its last legs, being antiqueted technology. I would highly discourage anyone from buying the composer. I am looking for some substitutes for my oncoming PCT hike, though I just herd from Hammock hanger that the cellphone/keyboard gadget she carried on the Florida Trail (thers very good cell reception normaly there, because its so flat), from which she was able to send e-mail, used to drain batteries very fast (evry few days). So I'm still looking for an alternative. Any suggestion?
