matt thanks for the info on staying away from established camps I perfer that also. I'm wondering what other thru hikers due in the Seirra's. The thru hikers I saw last year mostly did not have Canisters. I know one encounter with a bear would ruin or set back the trip. Going through in early June are the bears up there then? len
