LostHiker writes; It might not see Everest, but this P1 pack is getting out
and about in some incredible alpine areas. Bear Pass got it's name just a
few minutes before when a teen-bear chased Kelly and then Kelly chased the bear
across Bear Pass.. Each one learned a lesson.. and a pass got a name. View
is along a section of my Trinity Alps High Route.

I am proud that my old pack is now cutting new trails across Mother Nature.
Otherwise, it would be in my garage gathering dust. In fact, I have other
stuff I want to give away at the next April Kickoff. I forgot to bring an old
ice ax and another pack. It is an old Vortex STX backpack that weighs
around 6-7 pounds, but is in excellent condition. I got it just before I
discovered the UL revolution in Ray Jardine's first book in the early 90's. The
lowest I have it seen it sell for is around $200 now days, but mine cost me
$400+. It is the biggest gear mistake I have ever made. :-(

Glad you are having so many adventures with the old pack. I like using my
old GoLite Breeze (Ray Jardine style) pack. It weighs 18 ounces with the
modifications I made.

Cheers, Switchback the Gizmo
