The PCTA has been in contact with the Forest Service up in El Dorado County
regarding the Angora Fire. The following site will be posted on the pcta.org
web page to assist folks in getting an accurate map of the fire.

According to the information provided, at this point the trail is NOT
closed. The only trailhead closed to date is the Glen Alpine trailhead
behind Fallen Leaf Lake. Smoke is the only issue for the hikers at this
point. Fire is 40% contained with a bulldozer trail around the entire fire.

The Chronicle just posted a new map show a much smaller burn area. The
fire was well away from the Echo Lakes and the PCT.
