Brian,

The distance from Portland to Cascade Locks is approximately 40 miles and is
via I-84.

Similarly, the distance from Timberline Lodge to Portland is about 60 miles.

I understand that there are some trails in Oregon which link some of the
major cities to the PCT.  Does anyone know anything about the link from
Portland to the PCT?
