I recently read "The Extra Mile" by
Pam Reed, two-time winner of the
Badwater ultramarathon. She holds 
the American women's record in the
24-hour run (138.06 miles),and 48-
hour run (212 miles). She has run 
300 miles without sleep. She has
finished more than 100 ultramarathons
and more than 100 marathons. She is a 
married mother and has no need for
Reinhold Metzger or his antics atop
Mt Whitney. She is another potential
record breaker for the JMT.
