Unsupported Reinhold writes: I think you are doing a great job
administrating the list...I know it's hard when you have to contend with ''Gooney'' birds
like Switchback and me.

Let's divide this statement up into two parts. First, I think everyone
agrees Brick is a good administrator. He keeps things generally focused, but has
a sense of humor too. He lets the List be a little flexible and not just
about PCT bus schedules and water cache locations. Good.

Now for the second part. How did I get drawn into Unsupported's category of
"Gooney Birds"? For the public record I have actually been to Midway Island
in the central Pacific Ocean. This is where the famous Gooney Birds live -
see http://www.neseabirds.com/Midway/laysan.htm . I will admit they are
amazing how they lay around everywhere, including the runways and taxi ways. They
are very graceful in the air, but taking off and landing is another matter.

When I was at Midway Island, I DID NOT SEE ANY RELATIVES! I am not a
"Gooney Bird"!! Even though I do have some resemblance to them. This might be
what tripped Unsupported up, but is still no excuse.

In any case, thank you for the opportunity to clarify this false and
slanderous statement. I am offended and owed a public trail community apology.

Respectfully, Switchback the Trail Pirate and Longtime PCT-L Gear Contributor
