[pct-l] Wrightwood and Holcombe creek questions

My old Yogis guidebook says that hitching into Wrightwood may be problematic
due to the highway being closed.  Is it still closed?  Is hitching the best
option for Wrightwood?

My second question:  I have tried calling the Ranger station regarding the
reroute near Holcombe Creek and was refered to a person who apparently
doen't answer their phone.  My main question is how many miles does the
reroute add?  My understanding is that the reroute is 30 miles but noone has
been able to tell me how many miles that routs around.  I'm guessing 10
miles for a net addition of 20 miles but its just a guess.  Related to that
is the water situation on the reroute.

I'm leaning towards ignoring the reroute but I don't have enough info and
cant get a hold of anyone who knows at the ranger station.
