Agreed.
Hypothermia Ridge just north of the Packwood Glacier would NOT be a fun experience if snow and/or ice covered. One slip there and you are history! Ditto if you were forced to try the old PCT high route over the top of Old Snowy.
August is a nice month.

The later the better this year. I too live in WA, and have hiked
that section twice... It's a gem. Late July into August the snow
might start melting!!!
