[pct-l] Apache Fire Called in by PCT Hikers (with photos)

I'm a little concerned by a comment on another journal
http://postholer.com/journal/viewJournal.php?sid=da3dfe057f680d3790ea97c08c7d294a&entry_id=2125
that "the fire has almost certainly been accidently started by other
hikers being careless with their stove in the windy conditions" .
This photo http://www.towncrier.com/pctfire_files/pctfire.1.jpg makes that
questionable in my mind, given the stump looks too jagged to use as a
table and not in a good place to use as a windbreak for a stove. Perhaps
it was an old lightning strike fanned by new winds?
