[pct-l] Apache Fire Called in by PCT Hikers (with photos)

I don't know about that -- I saw plenty of trees that had been struck by
lightening close/next to the trail in the Sierras.  Enough to give me
serious pause about my trail name.  A cigarette butt or pipe embers seems
the more plausible possibility.  The fire investigators are really good at
figuring this stuff out, so we will probably hear something within a few
days.

The tree is directly next to the trail; a main human by-way.

It's just a bit too coincedental to think it was caused naturally. Maybe 
someone stubbed out a cigarette, tapped out their pipe or *whatever*,  on 
the stump? Given all the places lightning could strike, the odds of it 
hitting right next to the trail have got to be enormous.
