[pct-l] Eagle Creek Trail mileage

I'm planning to hike Oregon Section G next month.  I'm thinking of taking the Eagle Creek alternate route, but I'd like to know how it compares with the official PCT with regard to distance.  I've looked in the guidebook, but don't see it mentioned.  Are they about the same, or is one longer than the other?

Oh, and I'm trolling for people who might be interested in joining me.
