I just love pita bread too! Everything you said is right about it. My favorite is to stuff it with cheddar cheese (its nice on a hot day when the cheese is warm and melted) and pringles wit a few packs of taco bell sauce. I swear its delious!

Pita bread sounds good too. I'll try it. I know it's high in calories. And, hey!! We can always use more "pockets" out on the trail!!!

PITA BREAD. Flat enough to pack well, fluffy enough to make a real sandwich, round to fit perfect into a bear canister. I'm telling ya', pita bread has changed my hole menu setup. Bagels are to bulky, tortillas are to thin and just don't make a real sandwich in my opinion. In fact, I think I found my new calling in life. I shall go forth and spread the message of the "Pita Bread".

  I know that tortillas are good for the trail, but I was thinking of
using
English Muffins for a trail bread too. Wheeeee....eeeew mentioned this
to  me
the other day. Has anyone had any experience with English Muffins on
  the
trail?
