Iv'e been watching the news too, and had you in my thoughts. I grew up in Lake Stevens but currently live in Bellevue. I hope Skykomish can get the funds it needs to help everyone out.
Its pretty crazy whats happening out there! Keep safe and warm. Cant wait to stop by in September!

The King County owned,  Skykomish Solid Waste Transfer station roof has collapsed due to massive heavy snowload. This was a County owned, County built roof, that was permitted by the County for massive snow load, It crushed on Jan 31st.

The weather forecast shows the same,, snow, rain, snow, rain, warm, cold, 6"-12" per day. US Hwy 2 is a real mess. The semi
trucks are a parking lot on the Hwy in front of the Skykomish Chevron. The local gas station ran out of diesel fuel, so the entire Emergency  snow removal crew came to a stand still. Someone called King Co Emergency Management to see if  N.E. King Co has been declared a disaster area, so we can get funds to hire roof shovelers, private back hoes to remove snow from eves of homes so roofs can slide again. The Town of Skykomish was already declared 2 days ago. They have 5 Dump trucks, Wa State DOT plows, trucks, County blowers, trucks, BN Railroad equipment, rented backhoes and are hiring anyone that can shovel roofs, walk ways, buildings etc. All our resources...County plows, trucks, blowers & private back hoes and contractors have been hired for the Town Disaster. See the Komo Skykomish story here . http://www.komotv.com/news/15089626.html
If it warms up at all, it will be the flood of the century.
