Itoya makes a terrific pocket lens that you can 
carry folded up in your map or in a wallet.  I 
have one of these in an envelope taped to the 
inside cover of each of my map atlases.  I got 
mine at Campmor, but I can't find it in their 
current on-line catalog.  Here's a reference at
