My Brasslite stove instruction say:
Note: isopropanol (i.e. ISO_HEET or rubbing alcohol) is NOT
recommended because it burns with a very sooty flame
(Bradsslites's emphasis)
They recommend
Pure methanol (HEET), ethanol/methanol mixture or pure ethanol
