Geez Scott, do we need to go through this again?  Not for nothing I  own a 
SMD tent, a ULA pack and Leki's.  None where purchased at the KO but  all are 
best of their kind for the trail. I know Ron and Brian personally  (having met 
them on the trail) and Leki has the best customer service for  trekking poles.  
 
No one gets rich off the KO.  On the contrary it probably cost the  
organizers a great deal of money.  
 
Since you don't plan on attending, what difference does it make to  you?
