I was a horse packer and still work with horse packers. There are berry bags 
for goats, that we use but the horse people arent' required to use them so 
don't.

The bigger the animal the bigger the pile, the longer it takes to dry and 
disperse. If they would just remove it to the side of the trail and spread 
it it would help a lot. But, too lazy.

My border collie is like a cat, has to go off trail and hide it. A wonderful 
trait in a  dog.
