I am only a section hiker, but I found the transportation from Manning
to Vancouver and then to Seattle a great way to unwind after being on
the trail. The morning Greyhound from Manning leaves you off at the
train station (which is also the bus station in civilized Vancouver) and
it is not as scuzzy as American bus stations. We had enough time to
walk up to Chinatown and get something to eat before boarding Amtrak for
Seattle. On the way back on the train, we watched the sun set over the
San Juan Islands as the train followed the coastline. And we drank a lot
of beer...

After hiking 2,650 miles, you might want to pamper yourself instead of
hiking 150 (?) miles back to Stehekin. Anyway, HYOH.
