[pct-l] Western Weather

Looks like they’re getting hammered from Central California north. As usual
we’re below the main body of the storm in the rain shadow. We’re thrilled
to have the storm in these parts – wells in Agua Dulce are 100% rain water
dependent. We had the driest season on record last year, and would be in
deep trouble water-wise if we had a repeat. I too hope everyone out there
fares well in the storm.

We are hearing news of your storm here too. I'm very worried for all of you
and expect that all my online hiker friends will suddenly drop off the face
of the planet due to energy outages, emergency situations, etc. We lost
power a week ago due to a snow storm with 70mph winds, I can't imagine 170
mph!!! We're hearing that north CA will get 10 ft of snow and south CA will
get hammered with rain.

Be safe and well my friends. Please keep me updated........

Wheeew

Don’t know how many of you are Weather Channel buffs, but I’ve had it turned
on to track the incoming storm. I was interested to hear that winds of up
to 170 MPH are expected at the Sierra Crest. That’s equivalent to a
Category 4 hurricane. Geez Louise!!!
