I've mostly used a 35 or a 32 degree bag. When it's cold I wear up to four layers of clothing. I think I had a 30 degree once for the Sierras.
I also use a 5-6 oz mummy bivy cover around it (equinox or Titanuim Goat) that acts as my ground cloth.
This has to be worth at least 5 degrees itself.

In all my time on the PCT I only remember one really cold night. Last April 21st my zipper busted 25 miles north of the border. Coldest I have ever been. (Right Janet and Carl?)

A lot of people I hiked with this year were using the Western Mountaineering Ultralight. I think it's a 20 degree bag.
24 ounces.

I haven't decided what I'm using this year.

Compression sack?? Never used one. How much does it weigh?
