Good evening, Ollen,

This weekend I was at a trail maintenance training project near Camp
Sherman, northwest of Sisters, OR. While in the area I took some photos of
the PCT trailhead at Santiam Pass, one of which I posted on my '07
TrailJournal site. http://www.trailjournals.com/steel-eye Look on the
photo list for the entry dated 1 June 08. Sorry, I don't have any other
way to post photos.

This year will be a real bitch for PCT maintenance efforts in Oregon. The
trails will be late opening for a walk-through and assessment, then there
will only be a short season available to actually schedule and perform the
work. Quite a bit of down timber has already been identified, but no one
can even see the condition of the tread. Hikers will get through, of
course, particularly by September, but I recommend you not plan on those
40-mile days that you often read about through Oregon.
