[pct-l] Sierra Buttes

I will be section hiking in Section M this summer, and have a friend who was going to meet me near Hwy 49 and wanted to check out the Sierra Buttes Lookout.  The guidebook mentions the lack of shade and the junction at the jeep trail, so I'm curious if there is anywhere worthwhile to camp before one starts the climb up there.  Thanks ahead of time for any info you can provide me with!
