[pct-l] Scary stuff ahead

Someone mentioned that it's possible to take a trail down to Leavitt
Lake to avoid something scary on Sonora Pass. Is this alternate route
in the guide book? (My guide book is in Tuolumne Meadows and I'm not
there and I'm taking a break to try to work out some less strenuous
work-arounds for things I'm just not feeling comfortable doing.) Is
this alternate route easy to find on the trail?

I believe I read in the guide book that Return Creek is a problem in
one of the post-Tuolumne Meadows sections as well. Has anybody who
isn't a young, buff or tough man done Return Creek yet and can say
how it was? I will skip it if it is scary. I slip and fall down too
easily.

Also, how is Donahue Pass?
