I have created some cell phone reports here:

At this point only the ATT report has enough information to be useful.
The JMT is approximately PCT miles 767 to 941.

If it's really important to always be in touch you will probably need
to rent a satellite phone.  I don't know too much about them but I
have read that the Globalstar service is experiencing some type of
problem that will not be fixed soo, so you would probably want to use
the Iridium service.
