[pct-l] Protecting Food?

I had some questions about this, too....and if i get it right, then as long
as we do the bear-proper stuff in bear country, we can sleep with out food
in our tents, under our heads and not have to worry about mice and other
little critters, right? and shelters have mice, but there are only some 7
shelters on the whole PCT, right?

I was wondering about this, too, as the mice on the Appalachian trail are
ravenous, nasty little buggers and put holes in everything....
