[pct-l] Air Travel

For my PCT-Or section hike, I'm planning to box and ship via UPS Ground my backpack and hiking poles to the hotel I'm staying at the 1st night.  I trust UPS for reliable, on-time, confirnable delivery more than I trust any airline, especially since I have a connection at LAX.  I'll check both in baggage on my non-stop return from PDX, where there's less chance of a screw-up and it won't matter as much if it happens anyway.
