Was the last one starting from the border in 2000 (june 6th). Used
McDonalds as a base for hours during the heat of the day to sort through
gear and fuel my body.

I live in Section C and I hike throughout the entire year. This section is
very diverse with most of the trails well above the desert floor. The only
creative planning that I would recommend is that on both ends (Cajon Pass
and San G Pass) to not do these during the heat of the day. The Cajon Pass
has a McD's and Mission Creek should be flowing through out the most of the
early summer.

The three digit temperatures are not normal and you quickly leave the desert
floor.

Am seeking your collective wisdom on the latest one might consider
starting section C. Was planning to go the end of this month but now
have multiple weeks worth of business travel which doesn't really open
up until near the end of June.

Looked like it was 97 in Cabazon today and while the 4 Jeffrey site is
very effective for semi-real time updates there is no "history" to refer to.

My thanks in advance.
