[pct-l] one step at a time, one section at a time, one state at a time

I took my first step on the PCT in 1971, finished my first section in 2001,
and finally finished my first state on Sunday at 2pm. I walked down
from Pinchot Pass to the junction to Taboose Pass, where I had bailed two
weeks earlier to avoid the first really bad storm of the winter.

At that point I finished Central California, and in fact all the trail
from Mojave Narrows Dam to Grider Creek Campground, as well as all the
PCT above 8700'. It took eight years on a ten year program but now
I am set to finish Northern California and Oregon next year by doing
sections R and A, and I hope the San Bernardino Mountains (C) and
central Washington (I) in 2010 on schedule.

Disorganized photos should be available in a day or two at

and it looks like my photos will never get organized until I stop hiking.
