I think the condition of the Russell Creek ford can vary wildly depending on
the recent weather.  I hit it first thing in the morning a couple years ago
in the last week of August, and I was able to rock-hop across without even
getting wet.  But I could see from the water and silt marks that it had been
running *much* higher the evening before.  I suspect that a recent rainstorm
would also raise the water level significantly.
