Here's an amusing bear incident that happened to an individual in the Boundary Water of Northern Minnesota. I know it not related to the PCT but it does involve a bear

Depends on the bear.  Some can be chased off easily . Others are much more persistent making it necesarry to move on up the trail if you have no way other than staying awake to protect your food.  Shhoo bear, shooo.  I've tossed some stones there way, made a lot of stupid noise.  A real trash bear that thinks it can get your food will try again and again.
