Hi Len-
As you might have heard, Wilderness Press was acquired last year. Our parent
company, Keen Communications (which also owns Menasha Ridge Press), is
trying to work out the process of digitizing the maps in conjunction with
Ben Schifrin. It's still at the early stages and until that's worked out, we
can't announce the timing of the new edition. I'm certainly hoping it's in
2011, but we won't know for sure for a while. It's not just a matter of
inserting topos for the trail section, but of reusing the existing trail
data that had significant changes to both basemap information (contour
lines) and labels in such a way that we can easily update it. All very
time-consuming and expensive work, in challenging times for publishers.

Hi,

Is Wilderness Press still planning on coming out with updated guidebooks?
Any timeline?

Thanks,
