[pct-l] what does 2 pounds mean

That depends on your size and how much work you are doing each day.

I consider 2 lbs a day dehydrated as the minimum for the average
thru-hiker and even then you will be hungry when you hit town and may
have lost some weight. The town stops can make up for it for most
people.
