June 15th makes for a good Southbound start date.  I'll be hiking south from Manning Park around June 20th.  I too teach and don't get out until the 18th of June.

You'll meet plenty of other people, don't worry about that. I would worry about starting from campo on june 15 though-- muy picante! Perhaps a flip-flop would fit your schedules better?

I'm beginning to plan a thru-hike for 2011.  My hiking partner is a  
school teacher won't be able to begin until June 15th.  Is this
