At lasft falls' ALDHA-West get together, Erin & Hig   made buttery 
goodness for concentrated nourishment from locally available resupply on 
their long trek along the Pacific Coast. It is made from butter, 
oatmeal, sugar, ...   and packs a lot of nourishment into minimal 
space.  Don't know how well it would keep in the warmer weather of the 
Sierra though. I had a sample and it tasted good.
