[pct-l] Mt Whitney permit

You do NOT need the permit to climb Whitney from the West side (from PCT/Crabtree);
permit is only needed on the East side (Whitney Portal) - so unless you are planning
on going over Trail Crest to Whitney Portal/Lone Pine and then returning to the PCT 
the same way (must do so within 48 hours), save the $15 for pizza further North!

If you do plan on going to Whitney Portal, the rangers are aware 'enough' that thrus
can't necessarily 'predict' when they will arrive in the area from the Mexican border -
just make your best guess...
