Hey Easy!

Yeah Winthrop was nice!  Kitchenette with a hot tub on the creek.  Town 
food.  Good hitches.

Boat ride from Stehekin to Chelan and back

Boat ride to Chelan $39.00 Round trip
Express $59.00
Motel about $85.00
Safeway Grocery Store.  Starbucks.  Restaurants.  Library with internet. 
Nice clean town.
Walmart just out of town

You can also hitch to Winthrop which is kind of a funky, old-west style
town, east from Rainy Pass.  A bunch of us ended up there in late '07 when
those big snow storms hit. Might be a better place to send your passport if
you don't want to carry it in the rain from skykomish and are leery of
trusting it to the Stehieken boat-mail service.  As I recall the boat to
Chelan is spendy...
