Regrettably, concerns about liability led us to stopping the practice of
lending vehicles.  We've decided to sell Big Red, if anyone is interested.
Sigh.

Working on alternatives.  One of my son's kooky friends said he'd shuttle
hikers for $20 a head . . . a ride in the car with him would definitely be
an e-ticket ride to a parallel universe.  Seriously, I'm working on a more
reliable arrangement for hire and will let everyone know when it's settled.

While we're all for supporting our local grocery store and shop there for
convenience:  they are very expensive, are limited on choices, and can run
out of stock on certain items.  They are good for beer, ice cream, and
dinner items prepared at Hiker Heaven, but you definitely could resupply
here if you had to.  For hikers on a squeaky tight budget who are counting
on a an affordable resupply here, the better option is Food 4 Less or Trader
Joes down in Santa Clarita.  The other hot destination is REI -- it's one of
the closest opportunities to resolve gear issues.

I would counsel hikers not to worry too much about it . . . a way down there
will be worked out before they arrive.

There's a good grocery store in Agua Dulce

The stop in Agua Dulce may not be as accessable to the big stores any more.
The Sauffley's had to stop letting us use their vehicle, I imagine for
insurance purposes...can't say that I blame them. Donna did mention that
they were gonna try to work out a shuttle service for us but I don't think
it's written in stone...any word on that one Donna?

You'll want to send a package from home to Mt Laguna and Warner
Springs. After that it's Idyllwild, Big Bear, Wrightwood, Aqua Dulce
(shuttle to store) and Mojave before KM. All those towns have larger
stores which should have pleny of food..
