hello kenneth,

we were there nov 7-9, 2008.
all i know is that the place is fairly new.
clean bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, and soap to wash hands, no showers, grounds are clean, lots of parking spaces.

the cost is on a donation basis. what was nice is we were able to leave our vehicle there and felt safe leaving it there as the place is manned and the parking lot is locked after hours.

the wildlands conservancy (sand to snow preserve system whitewater)
9160 whitewater canyoon road
whitewater, ca 92282

they are open 7 days a week 8-5 pm.
if you come after hours they will give you the combo to the gate.

the person i spoke to and asked for is named "Jack" he seems very knowledgeable especially the water availability in the area. my experience has been that he was very accurate. he is very helpful and friendly to talk to.

access to the trail is very easy and right there.
as far as resupply, you need to call them.

when we went the sky was blue, no clouds, sunny - sat nov 8.
sun it rained, rained, and rained. when we crossed the streams, needless to say they were easily crossable on sat. we camped out and did not proceed up to mission springs campground, 8500 ft. (where we parked our 2nd vehicle.

it was a freak storm. we figured it was snowing at mission springs campground so we headed back to the trout farm and the stream levels of course were a lot higher due to the rain and was a challenge for me and for others it was a piece of cake (a round log is positioned to cross stream).

it you hiked this weekend, you probably ran into snow.

let me know how it went.
