[pct-l] Dogs on the trail

Jason, this will be my final word to you on anyone else about dogs or any other such nonsense.

I tried to give you perspective, and others, on why they are so pissed off about dogs attacking them. I tried to give you some perspective, and insight, on why it might be useful to share the input and insight from a person's point of view who's been attacked several, and I mean several times. Believe me, teeth tearing into my flesh, and the subsequent unpleasant interaction with the owner isn't my idea of a fun day or week for that matter, so I have brought up concerns. I imagine similar run ins are why others opined so willingly, too.

Now, I guess I could retaliate against your statements, but maybe the tone of what I wrote
wasn't conveyed well. Sorry if my statements were a bit too harsh for you to handle. In any case, I think any posts up
until you put your couple out there today were in the spirit of giving
input and insight to other hikers. While my messages, Bob's, etc., the jabs including how tasty dog meat is out on trail (obvious levity in my opinion) could have been more
tactful or softer or more PC or whatever you might say about them, they
weren't personal attacks. Oh, and I'm not a braggart. But, let's just say I am and go on with it. Let's say the other people who chimed in are weak and can't hike 200 miles. Ok. I'm sure they have their feelings hurt, too, now. I'll never meet you anyway. I'm fine with knowing there is a person in the world who thinks I'm a toolbox. So be it.

You've thrown bad words my way. Boo hoo.

Sticks and stones, Dude

Buzz off Fuzz.

My loudmouth comment was posted over and hour before monty listed his stories. My comments were directed at people making threats against dogs/owners. Although my comments were not directed at you, they are now. You are a loudmouth and a braggart. And I'll tell ya: I don't give a f**K if you carry more than pepper spray, tough guy.

When a guy has a list that is long, and it's only a partial list, of the bad encounters he's had with dogs, I think that by sharing that people, especially dog owners, could gain some perspective on what it's like to have Dobermans growling and cornering you while the owners are nowhere in site. It also makes for being able to avoid some dangerous and possibly sad situations. I have heard Bob loud and clear about his stance on how attacking dogs would be treated. He didn't have to give you that insight. I don't have to give you mine. Again, by all means, if you think your dog can handle being out on the trail, that is awesome. I'm sure it would be fun to have your dog out there. I
 can

Bob, I, and others are just trying to let you know it's not ok that the dog attacks because you don't believe it would attack, and because there is a human somewhere that gets it its shots and calls it by a name.
