They will give you a ride to and from the TH. Make sure you specify which one you are at when you call b/c there are two.

I've resupplied in Tehachapi a few times.  Great town for finding things a 
hiker needs.  It's very, very spread out.

Last year doing a buy-as-you-go strategy I tried Mojave for my first time. 
I got a ride to Motel 6.  It has a great supermarket right there next to it. 
Laundry was a short walk from my motel room.  There was a library right 
there with internet access, but it was closed.  Resupply was easy and done 
in no time.  There was lots of good food cheap at an order over the counter 
place next to the motel.  I don't remember a better quick buy-as-you-go town 
experience.

A Tehachapi resident friend still ended up picking me up at Hwy 58 the next 
day after I hiked another 7 miles.  I went into Tehachapi, saw a movie, had 
good coffee and vegetarian food at the local coffee house, and returned to 
the trail the next morning.

I've never had an easy hitch to anywhere in this area.

Hitching Hwy 58 into Tehachapi cuts a 25 mile waterless stretch into only 18 
miles to Golden Oaks Springs when you return.  In 2007 it took 2 hours to 
get a ride with a ride bride, Not-a-Moose.  The post office, a motel and a 
Denny's (and a gas station for Heet) are all right there at the highway 
exit.  Sending resupply you could be in and out of town without having to 
walk the miles required to get around Tehachapi.  Just north of Hwy 58 on 
the trail is a very long exposed climb that you do with full water and 
resupply.  Starting back at Hwy 58 you can more accurately plan that climb 
at a cooler time and start out with a slightly lighter pack.
