Since I started this discussion, let me be responsible here for a
moment....and clarify what I said and what I should have said....

I wasn't suggesting anything illegal such as obtaining controlled
medications *fraudulently* or dispensing them to others. I merely suggested
your personal physician or anyone who is legally qualified to prescribe
controlled substances *might* be willing to prescribe in advance such meds *for
you* for potentially life saving purposes. As was pointed out by another,
technically putting any prescription pill into another nonlabeled container
may be a violation of medication regulations and/or controlled substances
laws, as it typically implies you're trafficcing drugs, but also could lead
to someone's confusion about what that medication is or what the precautions
are for that medication. Consult your physician, pharmacist, or attorney.
Then use your head. As pointed out, particularly if you remove it from the
container for your own use, you might seriously consider bringing a
notarized letter or prescription copy along with you to CYA.[I don't plan to
do this, but it might be smart] As for offering them to others I'd be
careful there too, as it is technically not their prescription and may well
be illegal or dangerous. In a truly life threatening or very serious injury
scenario vs. minor bs injury, use your own judgement.

The same applies for antibiotics. You should be very cautious (but not
paranoid) about your own use, let alone giving them to others. While you may
be well intentioned it could be a violation of pharmaceutical regulations or
dangerous. For your own use ask your doctor for specific instructions for
various scenarios. Caution here is worth noting. If you've never taken this
antibiotic before your minor infection could now become a life threatening
allergic reaction - in the middle of the woods! Yes, as someone pointed out
I do carry Benadryl tabs for any allergic reaction (or certain sinus
problems)

The anti nausea/diarrhea pills I spoke of are over-the-counter, but come
also with warnings. Everything has side effects and warnings. Consider being
selfish.

While all these are regulated by law I wouldn't get paranoid. That said,
don't be stupid or forget you still have them while crossing international
borders, etc.
