Interesting note:  both poison oak and squaw bush are related ...  
although the Rhus family of plants to which they have historically  
belonged has been broken down, thanks to DNA classification, into  
several families,

Poison oak in se is rhus quercifolia, and the Pacific region diversiloba

poison ivy has been known as rhus toxicodendron or rhus radicans, but  
is now classified at toxicodendron radicans.

squaw bush is
and is related to rhus integrifolia (lemonade sumac) and rhus ovata  
(sugar sumac), and rhus laurina or malosma laurina, laurel sumac,
