[pct-l] Printing Maps

I have not tried trimming the margins, but you are right they could be
trimmed, for reduced weight.

The margins are 1/4" on the 11" side of the pages and 1/2" on the 8.5"
sides. I increased the margins to 1/2" on two sides when I reformatted
the 2009 versions of the maps, because several Hewlett Packard model
printers that I tried required this.

I have tried to format the maps so that they could be printed on most
printers without scaling.

Speaking of scaling, when printing try setting Acrobat so that page
scaling is set to none and not set to "shrink page to fit" which is
usually the default Acrobat setting. If you scale pages it usually
reduced the size of everything to 92% and puts a larger margin around
the page.
