Hi Bethany-


To actually answer your question, the canisters are not available in most
towns-- but definitely some.  There are also canisters fairly often in hiker
boxes.  Unless you're cooking a pot roast every night, you should be able to
find canisters often enough to make it through to Canada.  I carried my
whisperlite in '07-- that works OK as well!
