Josh,
           I thought folks just included every email because they did 
not know how to edit the original message. I see your point of view but 
still do not agree with it. I am sure that is what happens when you see 
the whole digest quoted. They probably have their email set to send 
quoted text as an attachment  rather than inline or something and they 
never see it in their email before its sent. Better to put up with it 
and get to hear what everyone has to say. I also use a pop mail client 
and filter the messages into separate folders, but the gmail web 
interface is great for searching old messages. Search for Steri Pen and 
you will get a list of everything ever posted on that topic for your 
review.
      Besides I never read those off topic humor threads. The desert is 
not the place for humor. Its a good place for chocolate though. A real 
paradise if you bring something to drink and even if you do not have a 
sweet tooth your will never starve because of the sand-witch- is-there. 
I used to think the desert was all sand dunes like on TV until I read 
Captain Riley's Narrative on the wreck of the Commerce Brigg.
